We were delighted to welcome Sr Uzma Ahmed, Director of Education and Training at 5D Thinking, along with Br Shazad Karim, who travelled from the UK to our Greenacre campuses on Monday 20 April.
Sr Uzma met with our Teaching and Learning Leadership Team, Secondary Science leaders, and Primary teams, engaging in rich and inspiring discussions around curriculum and pedagogy. A key highlight was her perspective on teaching science through an Islamic worldview, and how this meaningfully differs from a secular approach. It was particularly insightful to learn how the 5D Thinking model encourages students to engage in analytical, analogical, critical, and meditative and moral thinking while connecting scientific understanding to purpose, character, and a greater sense of meaning.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from their international expertise and look forward to future collaboration.
