8th Annual Australian Islamic Schooling Conference in Perth

This year’s 8th Annual Australian Islamic Schooling Conference in Perth brought together educators from across Australia and New Zealand to explore the theme: Assessing What Matters – Why, What, and How We Assess. The conference delved into the deeper purpose of education beyond standardised test scores, focusing on nurturing character, faith, and humanity in learners through complex competencies.

We are incredibly proud of the 31 MFIS educators who attended, with several presenting their action research on assessment through an Islamic worldview:

👉 Mr Ali Arabaci & Ms Zena Maarbani – Muhasabah and the Missing Measure
👉 Ms Thamina Kassar – Science assessment case study
👉 Ms Maisaa Kassar – Year 9 English assessment
👉 Dr Ozan Angin – Palestine-themed poetry slam
👉 Ms Sofia Begam – Assessing moral, spiritual, and ethical development

Their contributions reaffirm our vision to become the leading school in Islamic education in Australia. Alhamdulillah!
