In January, our senior leadership team participated in First Nations cultural awareness training at the Greenacre Campus, located on the land of the Bidjigal people of the Darug Nation. Recognising and understanding the cultural heritage of the land we live and work on is essential for fostering meaningful connections and effective leadership.

This training provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachings, customs, art, and storytelling. We participated in a traditional weaving session and engaged in rich discussions about both modern and traditional Indigenous values and culture. These activities deepened our appreciation for Australiaโ€™s first custodians of the land and enhanced our commitment to inclusivity and cultural respect.

By learning from a First Nations elder, we strengthened our ability to lead with empathy, respect, and a deeper connection to the community. It was a truly inspiring day of reflection and growth.

Many thanks to Peta-Joy Williams, a proud Wiradjuri Yinaa woman, for her guidance and wisdom.
